Role Summary
Seeking a dedicated Logistics Technician to support a large-scale data center deployment in Columbus, OH. This entry-level to mid-level role involves coordinating inbound shipments, maintaining inventory records, and assisting with site logistics to ensure smooth project execution. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment supporting high-volume equipment installation and operational efficiency within a data center setting.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and log all inbound shipments, including servers, network gear, PDUs, fiber cables, and optics.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and track material consumption throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stage and position equipment for installation teams by rack and row to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with the Field Foreman on daily material needs and promptly address shortages or discrepancies.
- Manage cable and component organization in staging areas, ensuring pre-bundled fiber runs are properly accounted for and accessible.
- Support the return or quarantine of damaged, incorrect, or excess materials as needed.
- Assist with general site logistics, including tool management, workspace organization, and end-of-day cleanup.
- Document and report any receiving discrepancies against purchase orders or packing slips.
- Collaborate with installation teams and management to facilitate smooth and efficient deployment operations.
- Adhere to safety protocols and best practices in an active data center environment.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in data center, warehouse, or logistics support roles preferred.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, active data center environment with raised floors and live equipment.
- Strong attention to detail for accurate SKU and serial number tracking.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/move for extended periods.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently in a team setting.
- Basic knowledge of data center hardware such as servers, switches, PDUs, and fiber components preferred.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and follow safety protocols.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Availability to work on-site in Columbus, OH.
Publishing Pay Range: $30.00 – $35.00 USD Hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
