Role Summary
This senior data modeling position involves leading enterprise domain modeling efforts to establish shared understanding and reusable data structures across the organization. The role requires expertise in defining, governing, and implementing canonical data models to support enterprise APIs, integrations, and cloud data platforms. The candidate will provide technical leadership, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure standards are maintained throughout the data model lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise domain modeling initiatives by defining core entities, relationships, and business semantics.
  • Develop and govern canonical data models as the semantic foundation for enterprise APIs and integration patterns.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and API teams to ensure consistent representation of models in API schemas, contracts, and payloads.
  • Translate business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical data models with clear traceability.
  • Guide cloud data modeling in Snowflake, aligning designs with enterprise standards for scalability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Establish and enforce modeling standards, including naming conventions, key strategies, and documentation practices.
  • Facilitate cross-functional sessions to resolve semantic differences and drive consensus on enterprise data models.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior modelers through coaching, design reviews, and process improvements.
  • Manage model lifecycle activities such as versioning, impact analysis, and controlled evolution.
  • Communicate complex modeling concepts clearly to business leaders, architects, engineers, and analysts.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in data modeling, enterprise data architecture, or information architecture.
  • Proven success delivering enterprise and domain data models in complex, multi-organizational environments.
  • Hands-on experience creating conceptual, logical, and physical models supporting diverse business needs.
  • Demonstrated expertise in defining and governing canonical data models for API and enterprise integrations.
  • Experience working with modern cloud data platforms, with Snowflake expertise strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of modeling principles and trade-offs, including normalization, dimensional modeling, and history management.
  • Ability to partner effectively with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data structures.
  • Skilled in influencing stakeholders, facilitating consensus, and making data-driven decisions without authority.
  • Experience mentoring and leading data modelers to ensure quality and consistency.

Publishing Pay Range: $75.00 – $90.00 Hourly

This position offers a hybrid schedule, with a mix of onsite and remote work.
