Role Summary
This highly technical role involves leading the architecture, design, and automation of enterprise cloud platforms with a focus on security integration. The position requires expertise in cloud infrastructure, automation frameworks, and security orchestration, spanning platform engineering and AI-driven workflows. The successful candidate will develop scalable, resilient solutions to advance cloud operations and security posture across enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and evolution of enterprise cloud landing zones, primarily in AWS, with a secondary focus on Azure.
  • Design and implement advanced cloud networking strategies, including segmentation, transit networks, private endpoints, DNS frameworks, and micro-segmentation.
  • Build and maintain reusable Terraform module libraries adhering to secure-by-default standards and architecture best practices.
  • Develop and manage multi-stage CI/CD pipelines utilizing tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and similar automation platforms.
  • Incorporate policy-as-code, automated validation, compliance enforcement, and drift detection into deployment workflows.
  • Architect and deploy innovative cloud-native and AI-driven workflows leveraging AWS Bedrock and Large Language Models.
  • Design and support agent-based solutions operating on Kubernetes platforms, ensuring scalable automation solutions.
  • Develop Python scripts and automation tools to streamline cloud operations and security processes.
  • Integrate security tools such as Tenable, Infoblox, and Palo Alto Networks firewalls to automate vulnerability management and threat detection.
  • Analyze network topology and DNS data to identify attack paths and potential security exposure, incorporating firewall intelligence into automated workflows.
  • Design compensating control frameworks to mitigate lateral movement and data exfiltration risks, embedding these into governance standards via Azure Policy, AWS SCPs, OPA/Rego, Sentinel, or similar.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex cloud infrastructure and automation issues, leading architecture reviews and governance activities.
  • Define and uphold enterprise standards, including non-functional requirements, security protocols, and engineering best practices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in cloud infrastructure, systems engineering, or architecture, with a strong focus on enterprise environments.
  • Deep expertise in AWS (preferred) or Azure cloud platforms, including hands-on experience designing cloud landing zones and networking strategies.
  • Over 5 years dedicated to enterprise-scale Terraform development, including reusable modules, environment management, and provider creation.
  • At least 4 years of designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or equivalent tools.
  • Proven experience integrating security and networking platforms—such as Tenable, Infoblox, and Palo Alto firewalls—into automated cloud workflows.
  • Strong Python programming skills for automation and scripting purposes.
  • Experience working with Kubernetes-based platforms and container orchestration solutions like EKS and AKS.
  • Demonstrated ability to architect solutions involving AI/ML, including Large Language Models and generative AI tools like AWS Bedrock.
  • Familiarity with cloud governance and policy management tools such as Azure Policy, AWS SCPs, Open Policy Agent, and Sentinel.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Preferred certifications include AWS Solutions Architect – Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, HashiCorp Terraform Associate, and hands-on experience with AWS Bedrock and AI technologies.
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired must verify their identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
