Role Summary
The Lead / Delivery Lead Cloud Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and delivering cloud architecture solutions that support large-scale modernization initiatives. This role leads the deployment and optimization of AWS cloud environments with a focus on security, scalability, resiliency, performance, and operational readiness. The position provides technical leadership, strategic planning, and architectural guidance across multidisciplinary teams to achieve modernization objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of cloud architecture solutions, including deploying and validating AWS cloud environments for proof-of-concept and modernization initiatives.
- Develop cloud architecture specifications that support technical validation, data processing, and system integration objectives.
- Design, optimize, and implement cloud infrastructure using AWS architectural best practices and the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
- Manage the provisioning, configuration, and operational readiness of cloud environments to meet security, scalability, resiliency, and performance requirements.
- Collaborate with application, data, security, infrastructure, and other technical teams to integrate legacy components into modern cloud environments.
- Lead technical delivery activities, including task planning, dependency management, risk identification, issue resolution, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and architectural guidance throughout project execution.
- Develop architectural diagrams, design documentation, technical specifications, and implementation plans aligned with established enterprise standards.
- Support security and compliance activities, including security plans, control documentation, and applicable cloud security requirements.
- Evaluate emerging cloud services, automation opportunities, and modernization strategies to support continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, master’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
- Demonstrated experience architecting and delivering solutions on AWS, including experience applying the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
- Experience designing, optimizing, and migrating applications or platforms to AWS, including integration with legacy systems.
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale cloud delivery teams or modernization initiatives within regulated or complex enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of cloud security, identity and access management, networking, encryption, resiliency, and performance engineering within AWS environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, leadership, and external partners.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and modern software delivery practices.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the required Public Trust determination.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Publishing Pay Range: $43.00 – $47.00 Hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
