Assistant Controller
Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Controller to oversee their financial operations. This role is pivotal in managing all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting strategic financial planning. The successful candidate will be instrumental in enhancing financial performance and facilitating sustainable growth. This position is based in Rogers, AR, and offers a full-time engagement with a dynamic team committed to excellence in the drive-thru coffee industry.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the entire accounting cycle including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
- Lead the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts, and report on any variances from the established targets.
- Prepare, publish, and present accurate monthly financial statements within scheduled timeframes.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory and financial reporting as required by law.
- Research and implement compliance with technical accounting specifications and existing laws.
- Support and facilitate both month-end and year-end closing processes ensuring timely completion.
- Develop and maintain internal controls and procedures to ensure the quality of financial transactions and reporting.
- Manage and fulfill local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.
- CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, financial procedures and legislation.
- Demonstrated experience in producing financial statements and facilitating end-to-end accounting practices.
- Proficient with accounting software and database management – experience with software implementation is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational skills and aptitude for numbers.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling clear presentation of financial data.
- Commitment to maintaining accurate and compliant financial records.
