Our client is seeking a highly skilled Telecom Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role is ideal for a professional who is adept at developing and managing telecommunications systems, including fiber optic, lightwave, microwave transport systems, as well as MPLS and DWDM platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading projects from conception to completion, ensuring optimal system design and implementation. This position is based locally and offers the opportunity to work on transformative projects within the telecommunications sector.
Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive system designs for telecommunications systems, considering factors such as environmental constraints, terrain, and proximity to existing facilities.
- Analyze telecommunications requirements to determine system capacity, reliability, and technical parameters, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to schedule and scope.
- Initiate capital work orders and procure necessary equipment to support project objectives and service implementation.
- Develop detailed job instructions and documentation to guide the installation and integration of telecommunications systems.
- Manage project scope, schedule, and budget, monitoring project performance and providing regular updates on progress.
- Collaborate with other engineers, stakeholders, and project teams to coordinate requirements and ensure smooth project delivery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related scientific, technical, or mathematical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, with at least 3 years focused on telecommunications systems.
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with fiber optic, lightwave, microwave transport systems, MPLS, and DWDM platforms.
- Ability to develop and manage project scope, schedule, and budget effectively.
- Utility industry experience is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with TBS, NSP is beneficial.
