Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Atlassian Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role is ideal for a candidate who has a deep understanding of Atlassian tools and is skilled in developing and maintaining custom scripts and macros. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing team collaboration and operational efficiency by designing and implementing automated workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain custom scripts and macros for Atlassian Confluence and Jira using tools like ScriptRunner, Groovy, and Atlassian SDK.
  • Design, implement, and optimize automated workflows that enhance team collaboration and operational efficiency.
  • Integrate Atlassian tools with third-party systems via REST APIs or custom plugins.
  • Customize and extend Atlassian platform capabilities using Java and Atlassian APIs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable and maintainable solutions.
  • Establish best practices and documentation standards for Atlassian content, spaces, and workflows.
  • Perform system upgrades, troubleshoot issues, and ensure platform stability and performance.
  • Provide technical support and mentorship on Atlassian tooling and workflow automation.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of professional experience with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira).
  • Expertise in scripting languages used with Atlassian (e.g., Groovy, JavaScript).
  • Strong Java development skills with experience building plugins or extensions for Atlassian platforms.
  • Experience with Atlassian SDK, REST APIs, and webhooks.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage complex workflows and automation within Jira and Confluence.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum environments and continuous integration/deployment practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Preferred: Experience with enterprise-scale Confluence or Jira migrations.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
