Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Data Management Specialist III to join their dynamic team. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of document control processes in support of project objectives within the oil and gas industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a range of document control activities, ensuring compliance with contractual and company standards. This is a project-centric position, with projects varying in size and scope, requiring up to 15% travel. The role is based in Houston and offers a challenging yet rewarding environment for a dedicated professional.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement and oversee document control processes to ensure compliance with project contracts, procedures, and company policy.
  • Manage the issuance and release of project documents, including drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Coordinate with project teams and external contractors to ensure that document management objectives are met efficiently.
  • Conduct audits on contractor and supplier document management activities to ensure adherence to project document control procedures.
  • Facilitate project close-out activities, ensuring accurate and quality turnover to business partners.
  • Train and support internal and external team members on effective document management practices and system use.
  • Identify and implement improvements in document management processes to enhance project efficiency.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; advanced certification in Quality or Lean Management (e.g., ISO-9001, Six Sigma, PMP) preferred.
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in document control or management within the oil and gas industry, preferably with an owner/operator or an EPC organization.
  • Professional level accreditation in Aconex or similar Document Management System.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook) and PC skills.
  • Strong organizational, customer service, and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with project teams and train others on document management systems and processes.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% as required by project needs.
  • Experience in a regulated environment and familiarity with industry standards (PHMSA, FERC, DOT, etc.) is advantageous.
