Network Engineer
Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer with a strong background in operational technology (OT) to support and maintain network infrastructure across multiple affiliates. This role involves significant responsibilities including lifecycle projects, new site installs, and compliance duties. The ideal candidate will have experience with next-generation firewalls and a solid understanding of Cisco routing and switching protocols. This full-time position requires onsite presence and participation in an on-call rotation to respond to network incidents and maintenance needs.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage next-generation firewalls, with a preference for Palo Alto technologies, ensuring robust network security and connectivity.
- Configure and maintain Cisco switches and routers, utilizing advanced routing protocols like OSPF and BGP to optimize network performance.
- Participate in network infrastructure projects, including new site setups, lifecycle upgrades, and switch/firewall replacements.
- Respond to network-related incidents as part of an on-call rotation, providing timely and effective solutions to maintain network integrity.
- Ensure compliance with NERC CIP requirements, including managing associated training and documentation for network security protocols.
- Utilize network management tools such as ISE and Panorama for effective network monitoring and administration.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in network engineering, specifically with a focus on operational technology (OT).
- Proven expertise in managing and implementing next-generation firewalls; Palo Alto experience highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco routing and switching equipment, including hands-on experience with OSPF and BGP.
- Experience with network management and monitoring tools, such as Cisco ISE and Panorama.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning within the network engineering field.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency situations as needed.
- Familiarity with NERC CIP compliance and related security training protocols.
Pay Range: $45.00 – $50.00 per hour
