Our client is seeking a dynamic Pipeline Design Manager for a leadership-focused role based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This position involves overseeing a team of 15 frontline design professionals in the midstream natural gas sector. The role emphasizes strong people leadership and operational oversight rather than hands-on technical design tasks. Reporting directly to the senior management, this role is pivotal in driving team effectiveness and aligning operations with strategic regional goals.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team comprising a supervisor and 15 frontline workers, focusing on enhancing team collaboration, engagement, and performance.
- Champion leadership and development initiatives aimed at elevating team effectiveness and morale.
- Manage team capacity and workload planning to ensure alignment with regional and operational goals.
- Act as the primary liaison for the North East operations team, coordinating across various functional areas while maintaining strategic alignment.
- Facilitate clear and consistent communication across the team and with key stakeholders to ensure smooth operation and execution of projects.
- Support project planning and delivery oversight, focusing on strategic rather than technical aspects of pipeline design.
- Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and adherence to safety standards within the pipeline design group.
Qualifications:
- Proven leadership experience in the midstream gas sector, particularly in managing operational or design teams.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and build high-performing teams.
- Experience in guiding teams involved in piping design is advantageous but not required.
- Strong track record of involvement in the design or delivery of midstream projects.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to align both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Technical or design background in piping or related engineering disciplines is preferred.
- Formal project management experience, especially in midstream or pipeline contexts, is desirable.
- Familiarity with midstream regulations or standards (e.g., PHMSA), scope delivery processes, or capital project workflow is beneficial.
Pay Range: $155,000 – $165,000 Annually
This position is based in office and requires the employee to work on-site.
