We are seeking a highly skilled Interconnection Negotiation & Copper Facility Decommissioning Specialist to join a leading telecommunications team. This technical role offers the opportunity to facilitate complex negotiations and manage activities related to interconnection agreements and copper facility disconnections. The successful candidate will play a critical part in regulatory compliance, contract management, and the decommissioning of legacy infrastructure. This is a full-time position based on-site, and the initial contract term will be determined during the hiring process.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support negotiations for interconnection and related telecommunications agreements, ensuring alignment with regulatory and business requirements.
  • Manage increased activity related to Text with 911 (T911) offers and the decommissioning of commercial Unbundled Network Element (UNE) contracts.
  • Coordinate and execute the disconnection of copper facilities and selective routers, adhering to established compliance protocols and timelines.
  • Prepare and file regulatory agreements, amendments, and related documentation with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate execution of disconnects and contract terminations.
  • Support backlog clearance in interconnection decommissioning and selective router disconnections by prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Interpret and apply regulatory and contractual requirements to ensure all activities meet legal and operational standards.
  • Document negotiation outcomes, decommissioning processes, and compliance actions for audit and reporting purposes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (strongly preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in telecommunications, business, or a related field.
  • Five to eight (5 to 8) years of experience in telecom interconnection agreements, regulatory compliance, or network operations.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and filing regulatory agreements and amendments within the telecommunications sector.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build consensus among diverse groups.
  • Familiarity with Unbundled Network Element (UNE) contracts and network decommissioning processes.
  • Project management experience in telecommunications or a closely related industry is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional ability to interpret and apply regulatory and contractual requirements to operational activities.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities, with a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance.
  • Availability to work on-site as required by the position.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer sponsorship.

Pay Range: $55.00 – $60.00 Hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
