Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Air Quality Technician to join their Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in monitoring, sampling, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local air quality regulations. This role supports the client’s commitment to environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance across field operations, processing facilities, and infrastructure. The position is based on-site and offers a dynamic work environment where each day provides an opportunity to contribute directly to the sustainability and environmental responsibility of the operations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine air monitoring and sampling at production, processing, and storage facilities.
- Operate and maintain air quality monitoring instruments, such as ambient air samplers, gas analyzers, and emissions measurement equipment.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of reports to environmental regulatory agencies (e.g., EPA, state environmental departments).
- Track and document emissions data, including greenhouse gases (GHGs), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and hazardous air pollutants (HAPs).
- Support Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) programs and ensure timely repairs and reporting.
- Perform inspections and audits to verify compliance with air permits and regulations.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations staff to implement best practices for emissions control and reduction.
- Stay up-to-date with air quality regulations and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or technical certification in Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field required.
- Experience in environmental compliance, monitoring, or air quality in the oil and gas or related industry.
- Working knowledge of air quality regulations (e.g., CAA, NSPS, NESHAP, Title V permitting).
- Familiarity with LDAR protocols and air monitoring equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to field sites.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related discipline preferred.
- Experience with data management systems such as FLIR, OGI, or other emissions tracking software is advantageous.
- H2S awareness and other relevant oilfield safety certifications are beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
Pay Range: $25.00 – $30.00 Hourly
This position is based in office and requires the employee to work on-site.
