Job Description:
Our client is hiring a highly skilled and experienced Consulting Engineer to join our team in Washington, D.C. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to work with advanced technologies in Routing/Switching and Data Center environments. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of enterprise networking, demonstrate leadership in critical delivery engagements, and have a proven track record of operational excellence. This role requires a commitment to innovation, the ability to operate in ambiguous circumstances, and a customer-focused mindset. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in transforming our customers' networks to achieve their mission-critical public service goals.

Responsibilities
  • Assess customer requirements, develop service delivery methods, and manage the engineering team to ensure operational excellence.
  • Act as a technical leader and trusted advisor, providing expert guidance to resolve complex customer problems and operational issues.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to innovate and provide compelling technology solutions that drive business value for customers.
  • Contribute to customer problem resolution, innovation, engineering engagement, intellectual capital, and talent development.
  • Interact effectively with Engineering and other departments to solve complex problems and identify serviceability issues.
  • Drive resolution of major customer problems across a range of technologies, ensuring proper and quick resolution.
  • Continuously learn and strengthen technical skills in relevant domains and adjacent technologies.
  • Advocate for the customer's best interest and promote the benefits of our solutions and services.
Qualifications
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent, plus 8 – 10 years relevant experience in Enterprise Networking.
  • Deep understanding of key technologies and protocols in Enterprise Networking and data center environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of designing and optimizing complex network solutions.
  • Technical expertise in more than one area, with the ability to apply product behavior across industry standards.
  • Expertise with Cisco software features and functionality preferred.
  • Strong operational and consultancy experience with excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to function effectively in ambiguous circumstances.
  • Certification like CCIE R/S or Data Center is preferred.
  • Programming skills in Ansible, Python, AI/ML is a plus.
  • Must be proficient in OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and switching, with additional experience in security being advantageous.
