Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Demand Planning Analyst to join their supply chain team on a contractual basis. This role is pivotal in utilizing data-driven insights to optimize inventory levels, forecast demand, and facilitate effective purchasing strategies. The ideal candidate will be adept at transforming complex data sets into actionable insights to drive business objectives. This position is fully remote and allows for the execution of all responsibilities from an approved location.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and inventory levels to develop and refine demand forecasts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including purchasing, supply chain, and finance, to ensure demand plans are aligned with broader business objectives.
- Maintain and enhance Excel-based forecasting models and dashboards to improve visibility and decision-making processes.
- Utilize SQL for querying and manipulating data from databases to support advanced planning activities.
- Monitor forecast accuracy, identify discrepancies, and investigate the root causes of variances to improve forecast models.
- Present analytical findings and strategic recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of the demand planning processes and tools.
Qualifications:
- Robust analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret and synthesize large volumes of data.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, and chart creation.
- Experience in planning, purchasing, or supply chain operations within a dynamic business environment.
- Fundamental understanding of demand and supply dynamics in a corporate setting.
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in SQL and familiarity with database querying.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex data in an understandable format.
- Preferred candidates will have prior experience with demand planning software or ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau is advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, or a related field is preferred.
