Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Piping Mechanical Designer V to act as a Team Lead for a dynamic team of Piping Designers. This full-time role is pivotal in supporting Project Execution Engineers and Project Managers in the engineering design efforts of Engineering & Construction Projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, compiling, and overseeing design and construction information from various sources. This position is based on-site, offering a collaborative and engaging work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Designers in the creation of comprehensive design and construction documents, ensuring all deliverables meet predefined standards and project specifications.
- Coordinate and communicate regularly with internal and external stakeholders to gather project requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Develop and modify facility drawings for Plants, Stations, and above-ground appurtenances, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and supporting safe and efficient project execution.
- Utilize advanced CAD software, including AutoCAD and CADWorks, to create precise technical drawings, models, and other documentation as required.
- Provide technical support and guidance throughout the design process, from conception through to the as-built state, ensuring accuracy and adherence to timelines.
- Review and verify that all plans, designs, drawings, and maps conform to applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
- Engage in continuous learning to remain proficient in industry standards and advancements and ensure the team's adherence to all relevant processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Associate of Applied Science degree in Design and Drafting Technology or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Piping Mechanical Design, with at least 6 years focused on independent design assignments in the oil and natural gas industry.
- Proven experience leading a team and managing complex design projects.
- Strong knowledge of industry codes, standards, and practices such as ASME, API, ANSI, DOT, and others relevant to the oil and gas sector.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and CADWorks or similar CAD software.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead a team and interact with stakeholders.
- Ability to critically analyze problems and develop strategic solutions.
- High attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work within stipulated deadlines.
- Customer-focused approach with high outreach and follow-up capabilities.
Pay Range: $50.00 – $60.00 hourly
This position is based in office and requires the employee to work on-site.
