Our client is seeking a highly skilled Desktop Technician I to join their IT Depot Team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient preparation and deployment of computer devices across the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for the configuration, coordination, and shipment of IT equipment; directly supporting the IT onboarding process. This position is based in the Houston office and offers a dynamic work environment where technical skills are highly valued. The role is well-suited for individuals looking to advance their technical expertise in a hands-on, fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and configure computer devices for deployment using standard imaging and setup procedures.
- Update and maintain accurate records in the Service Management platform to track device status and deployment.
- Coordinate with the IT onboarding team to manage logistics and ensure timely shipment of devices to end users.
- Utilize Microsoft Intune and Active Directory to manage devices and user profiles effectively.
- Provide basic troubleshooting and support for hardware and software issues as needed.
- Ensure compliance with IT standards and protocols while preparing devices.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance deployment processes and user satisfaction.
- Assist in inventory management and control of IT assets to ensure availability and readiness for deployment.
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of experience in a desktop support or IT technician role preferred.
- Technical aptitude with proficiency in Windows 11 operating systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune and Active Directory highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to lift and move boxes weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
- No specific certifications are required; however, CompTIA A+ or similar certifications are a plus.
