Job Description:
Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer with extensive experience in AWS and federal government contracting. This position is critical for the successful migration of multi-tier and complex architectures to new platforms. The role requires active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain one. The successful candidate will be pivotal in automating tasks and enhancing operational efficiencies. This position is full-time and requires the ability to manage client relationships and expectations effectively.

Responsibilities:
  • Promote and exhibit an understanding of Agile delivery models and implement Agile practices effectively.
  • Utilize a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools such as Puppet and Ansible for automation purposes.
  • Manage source control and repository systems including Git, SVN, and Nexus.
  • Develop scripts using languages such as Perl, Python, PHP, Bash, Powershell, and GO to automate AWS tasks.
  • Implement automated testing environments using tools like Selenium, Load Runner, and Unified Functional Tester.
  • Perform database management, troubleshooting, and performance tuning across the MS SQL stack.
  • Develop Ansible and CloudFormation scripts for system provisioning and deploying software artifacts.
  • Create and maintain standard operations procedures, administration guides, and various management plans.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience with AWS in a professional setting.
  • Current AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate certification; Professional certification is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Experience with database performance optimization and monitoring.
  • Excellent technical documentation skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of managing client relationships effectively.
  • Leadership skills to manage a team and project deliverables.
  • Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows Virtualization (VMWare, Xen, KVM, Virtual Box).
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment qualifications required by our federal client.
