Our client is hiring an experienced Director of IT Network & Database Engineering to join their dynamic team. This leadership role is responsible for developing strategic plans, ensuring operational excellence within the network and database engineering teams, and aligning with their business objectives. The successful candidate will lead their efforts in managing Linux systems, data center infrastructure, cloud infrastructure, telephony, database administration, and networking. This role is pivotal in providing stability and security for infrastructure environment, ensuring scalability and performance, and including cloud migrations.
Responsibilities:
- Build and manage an effective and efficient engineering team to support and expand our network, telecom, and database infrastructure.
- Lead the design and deployment of technology infrastructure strategies that are secure, reliable, and cost-effective.
- Implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices to support organizational goals, focusing on a long-term cloud-first strategy.
- Manage vendor and provider relationships and contracts to ensure high availability and functionality of infrastructure and applications.
- Oversee benchmarking, analysis, and reporting on the improvement and growth of the IT systems and infrastructure.
- Ensure disaster recovery capabilities are robust and effective, aligning with network, telecom, database, and cloud architectures.
- Provide leadership in adopting next-generation technologies such as Robotic Process Automation, Advanced Data Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in IT infrastructure management within a medium to large organization.
- Extensive experience with on-premise and cloud infrastructure planning and deployment.
- Strong technical knowledge of network infrastructure protocols (SDWAN, VPN, BGP, MPLS) and telephony systems (SIP/VoIP).
- Proficiency in administering and licensing Oracle and Microsoft SQL technologies.
- Experience with Linux server administration, preferably Red Hat, and VMware virtualization technologies.
- Demonstrated ability in financial management of IT resources including budgeting and cost control.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong focus on operational excellence and strategic planning.
