We are currently seeking a highly skilled Electrical AutoCAD Drafter to join our engineering and design team. This role is based in Scottsdale, AZ, and involves supporting the electrical engineering projects within the electric utility substation environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in drafting electrical schematics and converting existing drawings into AutoCAD formats. This is a contract position with a potential for permanent hire, commencing on October 27, 2025, and concluding on April 30, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Convert existing PDF drawings into AutoCAD format and update them as required.
- Draft and revise electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts using AutoCAD.
- Maintain an organized file management system to ensure all drawings are current and accessible.
- Coordinate with engineers and project managers to ensure drawing accuracy and compliance with project standards.
- Assist in tracking drawing revisions and document control processes.
- Support project documentation efforts and contribute to workflow improvements.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 years of professional drafting experience, preferably in electrical design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD with a strong ability to create and modify electrical drawings.
- Solid experience with schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Exposure to or experience with electric utility substations is highly advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and file management discipline.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team environment.
- Preferred experience working with engineering or utility design teams.
- Familiarity with document control systems and drawing standards is preferred.
Pay Range: $28.00 – $30.00 per hour
This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
