Job Description:
Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Maritime Network Engineer Team Lead to lead network engineering efforts for a National Security Multi-Mission Vessel (NSMV) Program. This role involves providing expertise in maritime network architecture, security, hardware, software, and emergency response. The successful candidate will support ship operations to ensure that vessels meet operational and security requirements for government missions. This is a full-time position that may require travel to various locations, including state maritime academies and shipyards, for up to 7 days per trip.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and maintenance of network architecture and infrastructure for maritime operations.
  • Ensure compliance with operational and security standards for government maritime missions.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity experts and Information System Security Managers (ISSMs) in the Authority to Operate (ATO) processes.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, audits, and training exercises for ship management and operational teams.
  • Provide on-site technical support during both emergencies and planned operational events.
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and team coordination to uphold quality assurance standards.
  • Engage with stakeholders to establish network acceptance and testing protocols for new and existing systems.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in network engineering, with at least 6 years in a hands-on technical role and 4 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Professional certifications such as Cisco CCNA required; CCNP or CCIE certifications preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with U.S. Coast Guard and International Maritime Organization policies and regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects with a strong focus on quality assurance and team leadership.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and modern collaboration tools.
  • Experience in the Navy or Coast Guard is highly preferred.
  • Availability for travel up to 7 days per trip as required by project demands.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screenings as required by federal clients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead teams and interact with stakeholders.
