Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced MECM/SCCM System Administrator to join their team in Alexandria, VA. This role involves the management and maintenance of the Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager infrastructure to ensure efficient operation and compliance with organizational policies. The ideal candidate will work in a hybrid setting, requiring presence in the office 2-3 times a week. This position is pivotal in ensuring that all endpoints within the organization are secure, reliable, and user-friendly.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain MECM infrastructure components including servers, databases, and clients.
- Plan and execute software update deployments using MECM to maintain security and compliance across all endpoints.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders to schedule maintenance windows for updates and patches, ensuring minimal disruption to productivity.
- Customize software update groups and deployment packages within MECM to target specific device collections.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to software update deployments, such as failed installations and compliance discrepancies.
- Design and implement automated workflows for deploying third-party software updates using MECM.
- Collaborate with application owners and IT teams to package and deploy software applications, ensuring compatibility and optimal user experience.
- Monitor and report on software deployment success rates, compliance levels, and identify areas for process improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 2 years of experience, or a Master’s degree and no experience, or a high school diploma and 6 years of experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) or SCCM.
- Proficient in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or similar.
- Strong technical knowledge in software distribution, patch management, and operating system deployment.
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting Windows Servers and Workstations.
- CompTIA Security+ certification is required.
- ITILv4 Foundations certification is preferred.
- Must possess a Secret Security Clearance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
