Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network/Palo Alto Consultant to join their team. This role involves collaborating as part of a team that is engaged in activities concerning Network/Micro/Application Segmentation on the Palo Alto firewall integrated with Illumio Host Agent. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the interaction of data flows between devices and the ability to parse traffic at the port level.
Responsibilities:
- Develop expert knowledge of network fundamentals including network protocols, server and desktop environments, network hardware and software, and network management tools.
- Understand and implement Network/Micro Application Segmentation based on Secure Data Flows.
- Design, review, and implement Palo Alto policy; troubleshoot as necessary.
- Analyze and parse Firewall log files; adapt or create rules based on validated data flows.
- Manage IP Address Subnetting and oversee large data manipulations for analysis using advanced Excel functions.
- Collaborate with other business units and application teams to drive application owners to success, providing technical leadership and guidance.
- Maintain and ensure application and data communication security through effective Access Rules, ACLs, and protocol communication control.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- At least 8+ years of operational experience with Firewalls, primarily Palo Alto.
- Minimum 15 years of industry experience in IT and network security.
- Strong networking skills, with a CCNP certification or higher preferred.
- Experience with Illumio Host Agent is a plus.
- Proficient in using Excel for data analysis (vLookup, Pivot Tables, etc.).
- Basic scripting skills using Python, PowerShell, or Ansible are advantageous.
- Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize activities and work within deadlines.
Pay Range: $60.00 – $65.00 hourly
This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
