Role Summary
A mid-level network engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining complex network infrastructure within enterprise environments. This role involves configuring, troubleshooting, and upgrading routing and switching devices, supporting data center and site infrastructure, and ensuring physical network connectivity. The position requires hands-on experience with network hardware, fiber and cabling installation, and executing network changes in a controlled and documentation-driven manner.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and troubleshoot routing and switching equipment across enterprise networks
  • Support device upgrades, hardware refreshes, and infrastructure modifications
  • Assist with installation and connectivity of data center and site network hardware
  • Perform fiber optic and copper cabling work, including patching, testing, and validation of physical connectivity
  • Maintain and update comprehensive network documentation
  • Support WAN and LAN connectivity across multiple locations
  • Execute network changes following change control processes
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on infrastructure initiatives
  • Support data center switching architectures and physical hardware installation
  • Troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 network connectivity issues

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in enterprise network engineering or related field
  • CCNA certification or equivalent hands-on experience in enterprise environments (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), and switching fundamentals
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches, including Catalyst, ISR/ASR
  • Knowledge of fiber and copper cabling, patch panels, SFPs, and physical connectivity troubleshooting
  • Experience supporting data center or site network environments
  • Ability to support infrastructure upgrades, implementation, and operations
  • Familiarity with Cisco Catalyst Center (DNA Center) is a plus
  • Excellent documentation skills and ability to follow detailed implementation plans
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Publishing Pay Range: $42.00 – $45.00 hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
