Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled Science Logic Automation Engineer with expertise in API development, Python scripting, and SQL to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for leveraging your technical expertise to automate network operations and improve system efficiency. You will work closely with both internal and external resources, leading projects and ensuring timely deployment of automation solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network engineering operations, experience with ScienceLogic or similar tools, and the ability to deliver solutions under tight deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain applications utilizing APIs, Python, and SQL to automate network operations and improve overall system performance.
- Write custom scripts to enhance automation tools and streamline processes.
- Operate as a team lead, taking ownership of tasks, project coordination, and ensuring efficient collaboration between internal teams and external resources.
- Collaborate effectively with other technical domains such as Network, SDI, HPC, etc.
- Support night/weekend deployments and cutovers, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and successful execution.
- Understand customer requirements and provide tailored automation solutions that align with their needs.
- Write and maintain technical documentation (high and low-level designs) for automation processes and project tasks.
- Communicate project progress and technical solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience developing applications using APIs, Python, and SQL.
- 5+ years of experience in Network Engineering Operations, preferably with Federal customers.
- Strong experience using Python to write automation scripts for network tools and processes.
- Proven ability to act as a team lead, managing project tasks and coordinating with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Experience working during night or weekend deployments and cutovers.
- Team player with the ability to collaborate across various technical domains (e.g., Network, SDI, HPC).
- Strong ability to understand customer requirements and deliver solutions promptly.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) to interact effectively with internal teams and clients.
- Ability to write and maintain technical documentation for high and low-level designs.
- ScienceLogic experience or familiarity with other network automation and visibility tools is highly preferred.
