Job Description:
Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled Oracle Database Administrator with advanced expertise for a full-time position. The role requires a minimum of 6 years of experience in Oracle DBA support and demands strong administration skills in Oracle product support using Unix (AIX) environments. The successful candidate will be instrumental in leading and coordinating the design, development, implementation, and support of specialized business and technical IT solutions. This position includes a requirement for 24x7x365 support, with on-call and weekend work expectations.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-level technical support, database problem management, change management, and maintenance on systems.
  • Perform problem analysis for complex configurations of critical databases.
  • Execute complex installation, configuration, customization, and tuning of Oracle databases.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, database architecture, and design sessions.
  • Offer input and solutions to technical questions and problems while adhering to established standards and procedures.
  • Handle database partitioning, recovery, replication, failover, patching, and cloning tasks.
  • Support Oracle databases in Java environments and ensure smooth integration and operation.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule with other team members to provide round-the-clock support.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience working with ORACLE database systems on AIX, UNIX, and Linux platforms.
  • Proficient with Oracle 12c, 19c, RAC, Oracle ASM, and Oracle Transparent Data Encryption (TDE & TLS).
  • Extensive experience in Oracle 11g and 12c database architecture, automation, installs, backup & recovery, and monitoring.
  • Strong skills in database query tuning, analysis, problem-solving, and performance tuning.
  • Experienced with RMAN and DATAPUMP.
  • Competency in shell scripting is required.
  • Proficiency in PL/SQL, SQL Plus, SQL Developer, and OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and with clients.
  • Flexibility to work flexible hours including weekends and nights as part of the 24×7 on-call rotation.
