Our client is seeking a highly skilled Oracle Database Administrator to join a leading data management team. This full-time position is based in Houston, TX, and offers a hybrid work schedule, blending in-office collaboration with the flexibility of remote work. The ideal candidate will bring a robust background in database administration, specifically with Oracle technologies, to support and enhance our client's data architecture and enterprise database solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain comprehensive logical data models to mirror enterprise business requirements and enhance data consistency and integrity.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to accurately interpret data requirements, translating them into effective database solutions.
- Develop and manage detailed entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs) that align with physical database implementations and organizational goals.
- Maintain and update metadata repositories and data dictionaries to bolster data governance and lineage transparency.
- Provide expert guidance on data integration, migration, and transformation projects, ensuring seamless data flow across systems.
- Conduct thorough impact analyses for proposed changes to data models, assessing potential effects on business processes and system performance.
- Install, configure, and maintain database management software and tools, adhering to best practices and security protocols.
- Support application development teams by advising on and assisting with the design of secure database structures and objects through the development lifecycle into production environments.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in data modeling, database design, or a closely related field.
- Proficiency with data modeling tools such as ERwin, ER/Studio, or similar.
- Strong understanding of relational database concepts, normalization, and data integrity issues.
- Experience with Oracle database administration, configuration, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure, Google Cloud, and AWS, and their native database services.
- Practical knowledge of data warehousing and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent technical certification.
Pay Range: $40.00 – $48.00 Hourly
This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
