Our client is hiring a highly skilled and analytical Business Analyst / Data Analyst with a strong focus on the midstream natural gas sector. This role involves a blend of technical and business analysis responsibilities. The Business Analyst will work directly with end-users to gather requirements, analyze large datasets, and derive actionable insights. This position requires strong SQL skills for data extraction and interpretation. The ideal candidate will exhibit a strong capacity for working independently, solving problems, and navigating ambiguous data sets to support business decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Gather detailed business requirements from end-users to understand and address their data analysis needs.
- Analyze large datasets within the midstream natural gas domain to extract meaningful insights.
- Utilize advanced SQL techniques for data querying, extraction, and analysis.
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear, understandable business insights.
- Work closely with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders to communicate data-driven insights.
- Independently solve problems and propose solutions based on data analysis.
- Maintain integrity and accuracy in all analytics and reporting.
- Ensure all data practices align with company standards and compliance regulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business analysis or data analysis.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with large-scale databases.
- Proven experience in the energy sector, particularly in midstream natural gas, is preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of bridging technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- No specific certifications required, but relevant qualifications will be advantageous.
- Must demonstrate a high level of integrity and ownership of responsibilities.
- Ability to handle ambiguous situations and data sets effectively.
- Business acumen to connect data analysis outcomes with business strategies and value.
