Job Description:
Our client is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Specialist to join their team. This position is based in Carlsbad, CA, and offers a dynamic work environment where you will be responsible for performing both incoming and outgoing inspections to ensure the quality of materials and assemblies. The ideal candidate will have a background in high-tech environments and possess a strong understanding of quality control processes. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with various levels of the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed incoming inspection (IQA) on a variety of raw materials including wafers, PCBAs, components, and housing.
  • Perform outgoing inspection (OQA) on completed assemblies ensuring all products meet stringent quality standards.
  • Read and interpret prints and drawings to identify critical measurements and verify compliance with specifications.
  • Utilize AQL sampling plans effectively to guide inspection processes and decisions.
  • Generate Non-Conformance Material Reports (NCMRs) and articulate issues clearly to relevant stakeholders across the organization.
  • Operate precision measuring instruments such as microscopes, micrometers, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection results and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and management teams to resolve quality-related issues promptly.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a quality control role within a high-tech environment.
  • High school diploma required; Associate degree or higher in a related field is preferred.
  • Certification in IPC standards is a plus.
  • Proven ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong proficiency in using Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with a critical eye for identifying defects and ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and follow detailed instructions.
