We are seeking a seasoned Senior Control Engineer to join our dynamic team, focusing on the design and support of process control systems for refined products and petrochemical pipeline operations. This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal functioning and safety of our operations. The ideal candidate will bring a robust background in engineering, specifically within the storage and pipeline sectors, and will be instrumental in guiding projects from conception through to implementation. This full-time position is on-site, reflecting the hands-on nature of the responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering and technical support for process control systems and instrumentation across various operational sites.
- Develop and implement comprehensive process control strategies to enhance system efficiency and safety.
- Provide expert guidance on process control project scopes and cost estimates, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and budgets.
- Offer ongoing support and training to local operations teams, enhancing their understanding and capabilities in managing process control systems.
- Engage in the configuration and maintenance of HMI and PLC platforms, focusing on Wonderware Intouch and Allen Bradley Control Logix systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate process control requirements into broader project specifications and plans.
- Respond to technical emergencies or disruptions, providing rapid and effective solutions to maintain operational continuity.
- Stay updated with industry standards and advancements in process control technologies, applying best practices to internal processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in implementing process control systems within the storage and pipeline industry.
- Proven expertise in the documentation, loop tuning, safety systems, and PLC configuration according to industry standards.
- Hands-on configuration experience with various HMI and PLC platforms, specifically Wonderware Intouch and Allen Bradley Control Logix.
- Ability to physically manage the demands of the job including lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing ladders.
- Strong communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with all organizational levels and contractors.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% for domestic assignments and available for on-call duties 24/7 as required.
- Capability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without employer-provided visa sponsorship.
Pay Range: $150,000
This position is based in office and requires the employee to work on-site.
