Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join their team. This role is pivotal in maintaining and optimizing critical healthcare infrastructure, focusing on Linux administration and VMware virtualization. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing project plans, implementing new systems, and providing operational technical support to ensure functionality and efficiency. This position is full-time and on-site, requiring a dedicated professional who can manage complex systems in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Establish objectives and goals for servers and applications aligning with the organization's IT strategy and project planning.
  • Maintain and optimize Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems to support critical EMR and healthcare applications.
  • Manage VMware virtualization infrastructure, including vSphere environments and VCF implementations.
  • Perform performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
  • Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for system configuration and deployment automation.
  • Utilize GitHub for version control of infrastructure code and documentation.
  • Create PowerShell and shell scripts to automate routine administrative tasks.
  • Lead complex projects and serve as an escalation point for incidents or problems with high complexity.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience, including 3 years in large network server and workstation support.
  • Required certifications: Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or higher.
  • Strongly preferred: VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) certification, Red Hat Certified Specialist certifications.
  • ITIL Foundation or higher, and additional certifications in Microsoft, cloud platforms, or other industry-standard professional certifications.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration experience.
  • Experience supporting healthcare EMR systems on Linux platforms.
  • 2+ years of VMware vSphere administration and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency with Ansible for configuration management and automation.
  • Experience with Git/GitHub for version control and collaborative development.

Pay Range: $100,000 – $110,000 Annually

This position is based in office and requires the employee to work on-site.
