Role Summary

A highly skilled Software Asset Management (SAM) Analyst is sought to manage software entitlements, licenses, and access governance within an IT Asset Management team. This role demands immediate contribution, with the capacity to handle the entire scope of software license compliance, request fulfillment, and reporting from day one. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience with SAM processes and tools, ensuring accurate license allocation and proactive optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all software asset management requests through ServiceNow, including triaging, fulfilling, and documenting entitlements, access, and true-up adjustments.
  • Oversee user provisioning, license management, and access requests within Microsoft Admin Center and Adobe Admin Console.
  • Maintain accurate records of software inventories, entitlements, and renewal schedules, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements.
  • Generate and analyze reports on license usage, compliance, and optimization opportunities using Power BI and Excel.
  • Track and coordinate software renewals, OEM bundles, and contracts, collaborating with procurement teams.
  • Develop dashboards to monitor license deployment, expiration timelines, and cost efficiency metrics.
  • Support internal audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by refining SOPs and workflows.
  • Escalate complex licensing issues or anomalies with good judgment, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Contribute to the development of licensing process documentation, KPIs, and best practices for the organization.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for license reharvesting and cost savings, supporting savings campaigns and process enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Several years of dedicated experience in Software Asset Management or IT Asset Management roles, with a focus on license compliance and entitlement management.
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow ticketing system, especially in workflow management, entitlement creation, and reclamation activities.
  • Deep understanding of Microsoft licensing models, including M365, EA/CSP, and experience managing licenses via Microsoft Admin Center.
  • Extensive experience with Adobe licensing, particularly Creative Cloud for Enterprise and Adobe Admin Console.
  • Strong analytical skills, with expertise in Excel (PivotTables, Power Query) and Power BI for data analysis and reporting.
  • Solid knowledge of software licensing models such as per-device, named-user, SaaS, concurrent, and metric-based.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of engaging with technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage high-volume tickets alongside strategic analysis.
  • Demonstrated initiative and professionalism, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and continuous process improvement.
  • Optional but advantageous: certifications (CSAM, CITAM, ISO 19770), discovery tools (SCCM, Intune, Flexera), scripting skills (PowerShell, Python), familiarity with ITIL v4, and experience with other tier-1 publishers like IBM, Oracle, or Salesforce.

Publishing Pay Range: $45.00 – $50.00 USD Hourly

This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
