About the Role

As a Solutions Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical landscape of business lines. You will lead architecture activities, creating comprehensive designs that incorporate hardware, software, processes, people, and information—delivering end-to-end solutions aligned with enterprise strategy. Your expertise will ensure that solutions are scalable, reliable, and aligned with industry standards, supporting both current and future business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Solution Leadership: Steward a portfolio of solutions by providing technical and strategic guidance to evolve architecture over time, addressing complex challenges and supporting business growth.
  • Solution Design & Development: Create high-level solution visions and detailed blueprints using established patterns and reference architectures. Produce architecture diagrams, decision records, estimates, and technical specifications to guide implementation.
  • Hands-On Technical Collaboration: Engage directly with engineering teams to prototype, build, and refine solutions, including developing prototypes, reference implementations, and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Architecture Reviews & Assessments: Evaluate proposed and existing solutions to ensure alignment with architectural principles, standards, and business strategies. Offer actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Technology Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments of technology options, including benefits, trade-offs, and risks, to recommend the best path forward for business-critical needs.
  • Consulting & Mentoring: Provide expert guidance on technical decision-making, support knowledge sharing through training sessions, workshops, and mentoring to foster a culture of continuous learning.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and nurture strong relationships with Business Architects, Enterprise Architects, IT leadership, delivery teams, and shared services to facilitate collaboration and trust.
  • Organizational Learning: Share insights and lessons learned across teams to promote best practices and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of comprehensive technical experience in solution development disciplines including application development, middleware, cloud, infrastructure architecture, or networks.
  • Minimum of 2 years designing and building cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Proven experience in modern application development, including serverless architectures, containerization, and orchestration.
  • Hands-on experience developing APIs using protocols such as REST, gRPC, or GraphQL.
  • Strong familiarity with multiple back-end languages (Java, C#, Python, Go, etc.) and architectural styles (microservices, event-driven, layered, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of diverse database technologies—relational, NoSQL, graph, in-memory, etc.
  • Knowledge of software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and design principles (SOLID).
  • Experience with emerging technology trends and their practical application to evolving business models.
  • Familiarity with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, AWS Well-Architected Framework.
