Job Description:
Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr Designer to join their team. This senior-level design/drafting position is responsible for producing design layouts and finished drawings for complex projects. The ideal candidate will take on responsibilities including field survey, design sketches, engineering support, layout, and final drawings. This role will also serve as a discipline lead for projects, managing both internal and external resources. The position is based in Tulsa, OK, and offers a full-time engagement with the possibility of extension based on project requirements and performance.
Responsibilities:
- Support the company's commitment to safety and adhere to the company's core values and code of business conduct.
- Assist the Squad Leader and Principal Designer in determining the best methods to meet job requirements, coordinating jobs, and conducting training.
- Cooperate with other team members and interact with individuals at all organizational levels in a professional manner.
- Assist Drafters of lower classifications with questions or issues during project work.
- Perform both basic and complex design layouts, ensuring constructability, interference checks, operational safety, and overall quality assurance of all drawings.
- Prepare and manage scope, budget, and schedule for projects or assignments.
- Ensuring that any assigned internal or external discipline resources are within scope, budget, and schedule.
- Produce new drawings and check existing drawings for accuracy and completeness, including detailed dimensional and bill of material checks.
- Communicate effectively, demonstrating a strong sense of urgency about solving problems and completing work efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of related experience in tank, vessel, or fabrication projects.
- At least 2 years of experience within our organization is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Inventor is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of various drafting disciplines including vessels and structural design.
- General knowledge of fabrication, purchasing, and field construction processes.
- Ability to apply general mathematical and advanced trigonometry functions to practical situations.
- Advanced knowledge of API, AISC, ASME, and various other codes and standards required for different types of work.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Strong computer literacy, particularly in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
