We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. IT Field Support Specialist to join our team. This role involves a combination of project management and technical coordination for infrastructure projects and operational initiatives. The successful candidate will act as the single point of contact for all IT-related issues at the assigned site, managing both hardware and software systems. This position requires a significant amount of travel within a specified radius and may occasionally require overnight stays. The role is initially on a contract basis with the potential to transition to a permanent position based on performance.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary IT contact for all site-related issues, ensuring effective management and resolution of incidents and problems.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows 11 operating systems, business applications, and related hardware.
- Coordinate with other IT teams to roll out hardware and software upgrades, implement new equipment, and participate in new product testing and special projects.
- Develop strong relationships across the organization to support IT initiatives and ensure alignment with business strategies.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of PCs, accessories, and manage IT standards compliance for the assigned sites.
- Provide training to end-users, ensuring effective use of IT equipment and software.
- Document issues and resolutions thoroughly in the IT knowledge base.
- Manage a heavy caseload and respond promptly to customer requests, providing support outside of standard hours on an on-call basis.
Qualifications
- College or technical school degree preferred, or relevant certifications such as A+, Net+, Security+, MCP, MCDST, MCSA, MCSE, ITIL.
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience in IT support and project management.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong experience with PC, LAN, WAN, MPLS, VPN, wireless, and cloud-based solutions.
- Experience setting up and managing mobile devices and familiarity with MDM solutions.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must possess a clean driving record and a dependable vehicle; mileage will be reimbursed.
- Ability to lift at least 30lbs and travel extensively as required by the role.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without employer-provided visa sponsorship.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Have a mobile device (AppleAndroid) that can be configured to use with or MDM solution. The device cannot be rooted or Jailbroken as our system will reject those devices due to security.
- Must have a clean driving record, definitely no major infractions
