Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Control Engineer to join their team in Houston, Texas. This position is critical for designing and implementing process control systems and managing related projects in the midstream energy services sector. The successful candidate will be instrumental in enhancing our operational efficiency and safety across our extensive network of pipelines and storage facilities. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in engineering and expertise in process control systems within the plant and pipeline facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Engineer and provide technical support for process control, instrumentation, and measurement technologies for various projects.
- Lead design efforts for control system upgrades, including Burner Management System and shutdown system enhancements.
- Develop and implement technical standards, specifications, and maintenance procedures for process control systems.
- Provide detailed scope and estimates for process control projects, ensuring alignment with operational requirements and safety standards.
- Facilitate Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Analysis and participate in Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced engineers, fostering a collaborative and learning environment.
- Participate in operational training programs related to process control systems to enhance team capabilities.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure seamless execution and support of projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field is required.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in implementing process control systems in plant and pipeline facilities.
- Expert knowledge of regulatory control, loop tuning, safety systems, and DCS and PLC configuration.
- Extensive experience with electrical and instrumentation design including relay logic.
- Profound knowledge of HAZOP, LOPA, and SIL analysis.
- Experience with ICS Triplex, Honeywell, Triconex, and Allen Bradley PLC systems is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 20 pounds, climbing ladders, and reaching overhead.
