Our client is seeking a highly skilled Technical Consulting Engineer with a strong background in Optical and Data/IP technologies to join their dynamic team. This full-time role will be based in Richardson, TX, and involves providing second and third level technical support to premium customers. The successful candidate will be part of a team that is instrumental in providing solutions and support across various Optical platforms, contributing significantly to customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert level technical support for Optical and Data/IP technologies to customers, partners, and internal teams.
- Utilize advanced analytical skills to diagnose and resolve product and network issues of moderate to high complexity.
- Work collaboratively with a global team to support customers on a 24/7 basis, ensuring rapid resolution of issues.
- Develop and deliver training sessions and intellectual property materials to enhance team capabilities and knowledge.
- Act as a primary point of contact for resolving complex network problems for large accounts.
- Use complex lab setups to effectively recreate and solve customer problems.
- Document and report product defects and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure timely resolution.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers, enhancing team performance and expertise.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with Optical technologies such as SONET, DWDM, OC, SDH, ML, MSTP, etc.
- Proven expertise in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Optical Networking/DWDM Equipment.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve complex network issues.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively articulating technical information in both verbal and written forms.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing critical customer issues.
- Proficiency in database management and Unix systems.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or higher networking certifications are highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work on-site as required by the role’s demands.

Pay Range: $50.00 – $60.00 hourly
This position is based in office and requires the employee to work on-site.
