Job Description:
Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled Threat Engineer to join their dynamic team. This technical role primarily focuses on the implementation and validation engineering aspects within the cybersecurity domain, supporting both new deployments and lifecycle management refresh initiatives. The ideal candidate will be based in Dallas, TX, and will play a crucial role in ensuring that our technical and strategic initiatives are executed flawlessly to maintain robust security across our networks. This is a full-time position that requires a deep understanding of design and build principles in cybersecurity systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute detailed implementation plans for cybersecurity solutions, ensuring alignment with predefined standards and runbooks.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks prior to implementations to uphold engineering standards and mitigate potential risks.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering teams to resolve any issues prior to change implementation, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Manage multiple technical project engagements, effectively balancing priorities and deadlines across various teams and stakeholders.
  • Support Release & Deployment project delivery and Lifecycle Management activities, ensuring zero impact to the production network.
  • Operate and maintain various Threat platforms such as McAfee, BlueCoat, F5 SSLO, FireEye, Radware Alteon, NSX Defender, and NetSkope.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and objectively measure the impact of implemented changes over time.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of IT experience with a focus on Threat solutions and cybersecurity.
  • Proven track record of managing complex technical projects and delivering solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Strong experience with Proxies, specifically McAfee or BlueCoat, and broad knowledge of FireEye, Alteon, and F5 SSLO.
  • In-depth understanding of network routing/switching, DMZ network infrastructure, and security policies.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with senior management and technical teams.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, to support change activities and project needs.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Programming skills in sh, Perl, Python, Golang, C, or C++ are considered a plus.
  • Administrator level proficiency with UNIX (Linux or similar variants) is highly desirable.
