Trainer and Instructional Designer

Role Summary
The Trainer and Instructional Designer is responsible for developing and delivering effective training programs tailored to enhance capabilities within the FPS2 program. This role requires a combination of instructional design expertise, adult learning principles, and facilitation skills to create engaging learning experiences. The position supports strategic training initiatives and performance improvement across various technical and operational environments.

Responsibilities

• Analyze learning needs through stakeholder consultations and performance data to identify training gaps.
• Design and develop engaging and instructionally sound training materials using software such as Articulate 360, Captivate, Camtasia, or Vyond.
• Deliver virtual training sessions and facilitate engaging learning experiences for diverse audiences.
• Create visually appealing training content that aligns with adult learning principles and best practices.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure training materials meet technical and organizational requirements.
• Manage multiple training projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to scope.
• Utilize LMS platforms for course deployment, tracking, and evaluation if applicable.
• Gather feedback and analyze training effectiveness to inform continuous improvement efforts.
• Stay current with instructional design trends, tools, and methodologies to enhance training quality.
• Support strategic workforce development initiatives through tailored training programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Organizational Development, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience designing and delivering training in corporate, technical, or government settings.
• Proficiency with instructional design software such as Articulate 360, Captivate, Camtasia, or Vyond.
• Strong facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to engage remote audiences.
• Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to create clear, visually appealing, and effective training materials.
• Experience with adult learning methodologies and human-centered design principles preferred.
• Experience with LMS administration or learning data analytics is a plus.
• Master’s degree in a learning-related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies or human-centered design is advantageous.
• Industry-specific training experience (IT, cybersecurity, healthcare, operations, etc.) is a plus.
• Must have the legal right to work in the designated location.

Publishing Pay Range: $30.00 – $35.00 USD Hourly

This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
