Role Summary
This position involves supporting data center operations and infrastructure, requiring a technician with hands-on experience in hardware installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The role entails performing rack and stack, cabling, and hardware replacement tasks to ensure optimal data center functionality. The successful candidate will assist with system diagnostics, configuration, and maintenance during scheduled maintenance windows.
Responsibilities
- Install, replace, and troubleshoot hardware components within data center environments
- Perform rack and stack, cabling, and cable patching during planned cutover activities
- Configure networking devices by console access to set local IP addresses and transfer configuration files
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and methods of procedure (MOPs) for system configurations and changes
- Conduct system diagnostics to identify and resolve hardware or network issues quickly and efficiently
- Support data center maintenance activities, including removals, installations, and cable management
- Adhere to data center safety protocols and operational standards to ensure a secure environment
- Participate in change management processes to document and execute changes properly
- Troubleshoot basic network and hardware issues to maintain uptime and operational efficiency
- Collaborate with team members to support ongoing data center improvements and projects
Qualifications
- Proven experience supporting data center operations and infrastructure
- Hands-on skills with hardware installation, server stacking, cabling, and component replacement
- Ability to perform system diagnostics and basic troubleshooting of hardware and network devices
- Knowledge of data center safety standards and operational procedures
- Familiarity with configuring networking devices via console, including IP setup and file transfers
- Experience working within change management processes and following detailed MOPs
- Availability to work during scheduled maintenance windows and perform scheduled cutovers
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and follow safety and operational guidelines
- Eligibility to work in the designated location and in compliance with employment regulations
Publishing Pay Range: $40.00 – $45.00 USD Hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
