Role Summary
This position is a mid-level to senior role focused on migrating applications from virtual machines to Kubernetes clusters. The role involves designing, deploying, and managing containerized applications within Kubernetes environments, ensuring scalable and reliable system operations. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and leveraging advanced automation tools are essential components of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the migration of applications from virtual machines to Kubernetes clusters.
  • Design, configure, and maintain robust Kubernetes environments, including deployment pipelines and cluster management.
  • Containerize existing applications to facilitate deployment within Kubernetes infrastructure.
  • Manage infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and Ansible to automate provisioning and configurations.
  • Enhance and maintain monitoring solutions utilizing the ELK stack or Elastic Cloud to ensure system performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to improve system scalability and reliability.
  • Implement automation workflows and optimize deployment processes leveraging AI-powered tools, such as GitHub Copilot.
  • Perform system administration tasks, including Unix/Linux operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve infrastructure and deployment processes for efficiency and scalability.
  • Support infrastructure enhancements and updates, ensuring compliance with best practices in cloud and container management.

Qualifications

  • Proven hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including cluster setup, deployment, and ongoing management.
  • Experience working in cloud environments, with a preference for private cloud, but public cloud experience is also acceptable.
  • Proficiency with Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure automation and management.
  • Solid understanding of containerization concepts, deployment strategies, and related tools.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools, specifically the ELK stack or Elastic Cloud.
  • Strong Unix/Linux system administration skills, including troubleshooting and task automation.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across teams.
  • Ability to adapt and learn new automation tools, including AI-powered development aids.
  • Availability to work on-site in a collaborative office environment.

Publishing Pay Range: $50.00 – $55.00 USD Hourly

This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
