Role Summary
This Performance & Stability Test Engineer position is a senior-level role responsible for leading comprehensive performance, scalability, and reliability testing for critical enterprise systems. The role involves designing and executing tests that ensure systems meet operational demands under load, maintaining high availability and system integrity. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with software engineering teams to validate system performance and identify potential bottlenecks or stability risks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and execution of performance and stability testing across end-to-end systems in realistic operational scenarios.
  • Develop and maintain detailed Performance and Stability Test Plans and Procedures, emphasizing test automation, repeatability, and scalability.
  • Define, optimize, and execute large-scale workload scenarios utilizing AI-assisted tools to enhance test coverage and realism.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of system logs, telemetry, and data correlation to identify performance bottlenecks, stability issues, and latent defects.
  • Utilize Data Reduction & Analysis (DR&A) and diagnostic tools to efficiently capture, analyze, and baseline system states during testing.
  • Write comprehensive Performance Test Reports (PTRs) with clear reproduction steps, supporting data, logs, and impact assessments.
  • Track, analyze, and report critical test metrics such as throughput, latency, resource utilization, error rates, and endurance trends to assess system health.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineering teams to reproduce defects, validate fixes, and perform regression testing on PTR resolutions.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of test plans, results, and performance baseline data to inform ongoing system improvements.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, operational requirements, and emerging technologies to improve testing processes.

Qualifications

  • This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience, Master’s degree with 10+ years, Associate’s degree with 14+ years, or HS diploma/equivalent with 16+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in performance, load, and stability testing for complex enterprise or mission-critical systems, specifically on Linux platforms using Playwright.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, distributed systems, and network protocols.
  • Skilled in analyzing metrics, logs, and traces to diagnose latency, performance issues, and stability risks.
  • Ability to translate operational demands into detailed performance test scenarios.
  • Experience with test automation, scripting, and scalability considerations.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in identifying performance bottlenecks.
  • Effective communication skills for documenting test plans, results, and defect reproduction steps.
  • Ability to work effectively in collaborative environments and adapt to evolving project requirements.

Publishing Pay Range: $45.00 – $50.00 hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
