Role Summary
This position involves creating, revising, and maintaining technical and architectural drawings in support of large-scale Air-to-Ground communications infrastructure projects. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, proficiency in CAD software, and adherence to federal standards. It is an on-site role based in Los Angeles, CA, supporting engineering documentation for telecommunications facilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide drafting and design support for facility as-built drawings and project updates.
- Develop, modify, and maintain technical drawings using CAD tools and manual drafting techniques.
- Ensure all engineering drawings conform to federal standards, including Order 6000.55 and STD-002.
- Translate field survey data, engineering notes, and design specifications into accurate technical drawings.
- Maintain organized drawing libraries with proper version control and configuration management.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field personnel to incorporate design revisions.
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with documentation standards.
- Identify discrepancies or potential issues in drawings and recommend corrective actions.
- Support engineering teams during project planning, installation, and documentation updates.
- Verify and cross-check technical documentation to ensure precision and standardization.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 3 years with a Master’s degree, or 7 years with an Associate’s degree, or 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.
- Proven experience developing technical drawings using CAD (AutoCAD preferred) in engineering, telecommunications, or infrastructure environments.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software, including 3D modeling and BIM tools.
- Excellent understanding of engineering, architectural, or manufacturing terminology, symbols, and standards.
- Ability to produce precise technical drawings and identify discrepancies in engineering documentation.
- Experience supporting federal infrastructure programs is preferred.
- Knowledge of facility engineering documentation and as-built drawing standards.
- Professional certifications such as Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) or SolidWorks Certified Associate (CSWA) are advantageous.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with engineering teams and field staff.
Publishing Pay Range: $40.00 – $45.00 hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
