Role Summary
This position involves managing and supporting infrastructure server components within a global IoT and smart buildings program for a leading financial institution. The role requires hands-on technical expertise to facilitate the migration and integration of a diverse range of IoT devices onto a dedicated SD Access fabric. It entails close collaboration with internal technical teams and vendors to ensure seamless device onboarding, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management across multiple international locations.

Responsibilities

  • Onboard IoT devices onto the SD Access fabric, including registering IP addresses, configuring MAC addresses, DNS records, and NTP, and validating end-to-end connectivity.
  • Troubleshoot device connectivity issues in collaboration with networking, security, proxy, and firewall teams, utilizing packet captures or other diagnostic tools as needed.
  • Configure and support a mixed environment of SaaS applications, physical vendor appliances, and virtual machines hosted within the DMZ.
  • Execute proof-of-concept (PoC), request for proposal (RFP), and request for enhancement (RFE) initiatives related to IoT systems.
  • Manage the device asset lifecycle from deployment, configuration, ongoing maintenance, to decommissioning.
  • Liaise with vendors and internal engineering teams to ensure devices adhere to security policies, including security architecture review (SECR) processes.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation and communicate complex infrastructure topics effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Participate in building migrations and deployments, which may require occasional out-of-hours and weekend work to support global time zones.

Qualifications

  • Proven hands-on experience with both Linux and Windows server administration, including troubleshooting and configuration.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals: DNS, DHCP, NTP, IP addressing, wireless MAC registration, 802.1X authentication, and packet capture techniques.
  • Knowledge of security protocols and concepts: firewalls, proxy servers, certificates, SAML, OIDC, and SSO.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting IoT or physical devices, with an understanding of their communication with upstream servers and cloud endpoints.
  • Familiarity with APIs and application communication across infrastructure layers.
  • Comfortable working in environments that include SaaS platforms, physical appliances, and virtual machines.
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends and out-of-hours during active migration periods.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
