Role Summary
This position involves collaborating closely with the New Product Development (NPD) team to ensure suppliers meet quality standards for new product launches. The role encompasses evaluating supplier capabilities, conducting audits, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. It requires proactive management of supplier quality throughout the development cycle, from design to production, to ensure product excellence and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with NPD teams to define and communicate quality requirements for new products.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and capability assessments.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance and manage resolution of quality issues through corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement quality control plans for new product launches.
  • Perform supplier capability assessments and conduct quality audits to verify compliance with standards.
  • Lead supplier audits, track corrective actions, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Identify potential supply chain quality risks early and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Support cross-functional teams, including sourcing, engineering, and production, to integrate quality requirements into product design.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance product quality and reduce defects.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of supplier quality activities, audits, and performance reports; communicate findings regularly to relevant teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in supplier quality engineering, preferably within a new product development environment.
  • Experience in conducting supplier audits, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Certified auditor status is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of quality control tools and methodologies (e.g., SPC, FMEA, PPAP, APQP).
  • Proficiency in quality management software and data analysis tools such as Minitab and Excel.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or other relevant quality management standards.
  • Knowledge of the Gas and Oil industry is a plus.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 40%.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to quality assurance.
  • Experience in utilizing complex databases and Microsoft Office tools effectively.

Publishing Pay Range: $50.00 – $60.00 hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
