Database Administrator / DBA – Systems – New systems!!!!
Our client is hiring a highly motivated and proactive Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for overseeing the maintenance and security measures of our supported databases, ensuring data integrity, performance, and accessibility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring and updating malware protection software, creating account data for authorized access, and organizing databases efficiently. This position requires a high level of technical skill, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring the security and efficiency of database systems. Responsibilities:
- Build, manage, and monitor databases and database applications, ensuring their performance, availability, and security.
- Identify and implement database requirements for new or existing applications in collaboration with other teams.
- Modify and implement changes to database systems and information to meet organizational needs.
- Plan and execute database upgrades and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with data security standards.
- Create and maintain comprehensive database backup and recovery procedures to prevent data loss.
- Work closely with developers to troubleshoot data-related issues, providing technical support and guidance.
- Execute disaster recovery plans and procedures to ensure database availability during system outages or dysfunction.
- Optimize database performance and efficiency by evaluating and recommending new database technologies and practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Programming, or a related field from an accredited educational institution.
- A minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience in database administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check for access to facilities, equipment, and property.
- Experience in Microsoft Azure cloud database technologies is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in a scripting language (such as Python) to automate database administration tasks.
- Knowledge of software programming, development, review, audit, testing, configuration management requirements, and changes.
- Preference given to candidates with DoD or Federal Government industry experience.
- Certification at the Information Assurance Technical (IAT) I level preferred or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days. Relevant certifications include A+ CE, CCNA-Security, CND, Network+ CE, and SSCP.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to find important documents in an efficient manner.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other teams and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
