Cyber Security Engineer
Our client is hiring a skilled and experienced Cyber Security Architect/Engineer III to join our team on a remote basis, with the flexibility to work PST hours. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated professional who is adept in IT Operations and Security, to play a critical role in safeguarding our digital assets and infrastructure. The selected candidate will be instrumental in responding to security incidents, managing vulnerabilities, and enhancing our security posture.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and respond to escalated alerts from the Security Operations Center (SOC), mitigating threats and investigating their roots to prevent recurrence.
- Conduct vulnerability scanning, reporting, and management to identify and address potential security issues.
- Administer and optimize Email Gateway configurations, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), and Anti-Virus (AV) tools to ensure robust security measures are in place.
- Manage Web Application Firewall (WAF) tools and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) systems to safeguard sensitive information.
- Proactively engage in threat hunting activities to identify and mitigate security issues before they escalate.
- Collaborate with the SecOps team to maintain and enhance Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools such as Splunk.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of the security operations strategy, transitioning from a reactive to a proactive security posture.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT Operations roles, with at least 3 years in a Security Operations role.
- Proven experience in vulnerability scanning, phishing response, and campaign management.
- Strong administrative experience with O365 and proficiency in EDR and AV tools.
- Experience with Email Gateway configuration, WAF, and DLP tools.
- Familiarity with SIEM tools like Splunk is highly desirable.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CSSM are preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related subject is advantageous.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder with no security clearance required.
- Ability to work remotely and adapt to PST working hours.
- Strong analytical skills, with a collaborative and self-sufficient work ethic.
