Role Summary
This technical specialist role focuses on managing and optimizing authentication protocols within Linux environments. The position involves providing expert guidance on Active Directory and Kerberos integration to support multiple client applications. The individual will serve as a key resource for troubleshooting and advising on Kerberos-related issues, ensuring secure and efficient authentication processes across various systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert consultation on the interaction between Linux operating systems and Active Directory domains, specifically related to Kerberos authentication.
  • Assist application teams in documenting and developing Kerberos adoption strategies.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for Kerberos authentication issues across diverse client environments.
  • Advise on best practices for integrating identity providers, certificates, DNS, TLS, and related protocols.
  • Support multiple clients by offering expert guidance on authentication protocols without dedicated application focus.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to Kerberos deployment and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Collaborate with application teams to optimize authentication workflows and security measures.
  • Stay updated on emerging authentication standards and related security protocols.
  • Provide training and support to technical teams on Kerberos and related security technologies.
  • Serve as a technical resource for resolving complex authentication issues and protocol exchanges.

Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in Linux operating systems and Active Directory integration.
  • Strong understanding of Kerberos authentication protocols and related infrastructure.
  • Experience with identity providers, DNS, certificates, and TLS security protocols.
  • Knowledge of enterprise authentication and security standards.
  • Prior experience supporting multiple clients in an advisory or consulting capacity.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to authentication issues.
  • Ability to develop clear documentation and technical guidance.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with technical teams and guide application development.
  • Availability to support authentication protocols and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Publishing Pay Range: $46.81 – $49.13 hourly

This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
