Role Summary
This contract position involves supporting a code migration project by translating and upgrading existing applications and web services from older .NET frameworks to modern platforms. The role requires hands-on experience with C# development, focusing primarily on migrating and rewriting web applications, services, and APIs to ensure improved performance, scalability, and maintainability. The individual will collaborate closely with the development team to execute technical tasks and ensure adherence to coding standards.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in converting and migrating web applications and web services from .NET Framework to .NET 6 and above, utilizing C#.
  • Rewrite ASP.NET WebForms code into Blazor Server applications, employing custom frameworks and libraries.
  • Convert WCF web services into RESTful APIs aligned with modern .NET practices.
  • Follow established developer guidelines and coding standards during all development activities.
  • Conduct functional testing to verify the accuracy and reliability of the code produced.
  • Collaborate with management through regular meetings and active participation in code reviews.
  • Write, debug, and optimize C# code to enhance application performance and maintainability.
  • Develop and execute SQL queries to interact with Microsoft SQL Server databases.
  • Troubleshoot and debug code to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of migration processes and code changes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience developing clean, maintainable C# code in a team environment.
  • Proven proficiency in C# and .NET frameworks, with experience in .NET 4.x and .NET 6+ migrations.
  • Knowledge of web application development, including ASP.NET WebForms, Blazor, and RESTful API creation.
  • Familiarity with converting WCF services to REST APIs.
  • Strong understanding of software development best practices and coding standards.
  • Experience with SQL Server, including writing complex SQL queries.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize code for performance.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to participate effectively in code reviews.
  • Availability to work on-site at the designated location.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Publishing Pay Range: $20.00 – $25.00 Hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
