Job Description:
Our client is hiring a skilled and experienced Lead Cloud Engineer to join our team. This pivotal role involves leading a team dedicated to the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of cloud environments, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. The successful candidate will work 100% remotely, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a vital sector from any location. This position demands a blend of leadership capabilities and deep technical expertise, particularly in cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, and GCP. The role offers a competitive conversion rate, with a maximum of 175k, and is geared towards individuals seeking to leverage their cloud computing skills in a dynamic, remote setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the cloud engineering and operations team, overseeing the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of cloud environments across platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Manage the prioritization of tasks within the team, including ServiceNow requests, changes, and Jira tasks for provisioning, modifying, troubleshooting, and decommissioning cloud services.
  • Advise on and implement process improvements within the cloud team, utilizing cloud best practices and established team standards.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal counterparts and peer leads, ensuring seamless integration and operation of cloud services with other system components.
  • Provide technical guidance and direction on the provisioning of new resources and the resolution of infrastructure issues within cloud environments.
  • Implement and manage identity and access management (IAM) policies and tools, controlling user permissions and access to cloud resources.
  • Monitor overall cloud health, identifying issues and collaborating with the cloud services team and customers to resolve them promptly.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with 12 years of relevant experience in the field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in cloud technologies, with a strong preference for candidates with significant AWS experience.
  • Proficiency in writing and deploying Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Cloud Formation, Terraform, CDK) to provision cloud infrastructure.
  • At least two years of experience with Python or a similar cloud scripting language.
  • Preferred: At least one cloud certification at the associate level or higher in AWS.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team in provisioning cloud infrastructure resources and operational support.
  • Familiarity with a broad range of cloud infrastructure resources.
  • Experience with Jira, ServiceNow, and similar toolsets for workflow management.
  • Knowledge of SolarWinds, Splunk, and similar tools for logging and monitoring.
