Job Description:
Our client is hiring a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Specialist/Architect to join our team. This pivotal role will involve designing, implementing, and managing innovative AWS cloud solutions to support the secure, scalable, and cost-effective infrastructure needs of our federal clients. The successful candidate will lead cloud migrations, collaborate across DevOps and cybersecurity teams, and develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for automation purposes. This position offers a unique opportunity to drive transformational initiatives and shape robust cloud strategies within a dynamic and supportive environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement cloud architecture solutions on AWS, ensuring alignment with both business and technical requirements.
  • Support cloud migration and modernization projects, including the transformation of legacy systems into scalable and secure AWS-based environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, application development, and cybersecurity, to define and deliver comprehensive cloud strategies.
  • Provide technical leadership in the adoption of AWS services, including compute, storage, networking, and machine learning.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation to automate infrastructure deployment.
  • Develop and implement strategic action plans for customer infrastructure migration or greenfield projects on AWS.
  • Lead data migration strategies for transitioning legacy databases to AWS cloud platforms.
  • Develop, update, and manage technical documentation for AWS services, architectures, and solutions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
  • Experience in federal government contracting is required.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional certification is highly desirable.
  • Additional certifications such as AWS Security Specialty, AWS Developer, Sysops and Solutions Architect Associate, EMC, and VMware Certified are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Proven experience with database performance optimization and monitoring.
  • Excellent technical documentation skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage client relationships and expectations effectively.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of our federal integrator.
